Client A.K. is seeking legal aid against their domestic abuser, has a police report with HPD, in need of divorce and has active protective order. 

 

A.K. pronouns (she/ her/ hers). Person listed in Adverse Party is one individual but goes by each name provided. 

Rafael has been seen by the Montrose Center as a survivor of domestic violence. Rafael completed his divorce through a hired attorney. Rafel was granted the vehicle and Arcides kept the home. 

Arcides attempted to file protective order against Rafael but was denied. Arcides then called the bank and surrendered the vehicle and it was repossessed. 

Client is seeking a divorce against AP. DOM was 06/02/2001 and DOS 01/2025. Parties have no children. Parties own a house in both names, purchased 10/31/2024; own one vehicle with both names; AP has a several retirement accounts with Bank of America; parties have several oil rights in both names; IRA with Wells Fargo in both names; AP also has a pension; Client is wanting whatever she can get from AP and wants to fight for everything.

Victim came to USA with his 2 children. Abusive spouse kicked him and his children out to home, took his vehicle and put their home for sale. She obtained credit cards under his name and demands he send her money to pay her expenses. 

Victim and his children are currently homeless, living at the star of hope shelter in Houston. Abusive spouse filed for divorce in Brazoria County. 

The client is seeking assistance with proceeding with divorce, custody, and child support matters. The divorce process has been ongoing since April 2024, and the case has been rescheduled multiple times. The client has reported that the opposing party became upset upon her filing for custody and subsequently made false accusations of child abuse and endangerment. The client possesses police documentation supporting the falsity of these allegations. Additionally, the client has retained two attorneys, one in April 2024 and another in June 2024, but no progress has been made in the case.

Clients current "wife" cannot derive any (immigration) status because they're not legally married. He married another lady in Georgia and later found out that the lady had already been married in Honduras. Georgia law does recognize marriages from foreign countries. So basically, his marriage in Georgia should be void or annulled. He just needs some help with contacting a family law attorney that can help him with that process for little or no cost.
