AmeriCorps, a federal agency, brings people together to tackle the country’s most pressing challenges, through national service and volunteering. AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers serve with organizations dedicated to the improvement of communities. AmeriCorps helps make service to others a cornerstone of our national culture. Our members provide outreach, training and hands-on activities on nutrition, wellness practices, and social and physical fitness to a variety of communities, such as children, babies, seniors, veterans and individuals with autism. SERVE HOUSTON allows its AmeriCorps members the opportunity to learn, lead and make an IMpact through service and, most importantly, to Get Things Done. SERVE HOUSTON is the new AmeriCorps Program powered by Volunteer Houston. We are a proud grantee of AmeriCorps. We receive funding from them through the OneStar Foundation in Texas to operate SERVE HOUSTON, a program of Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston (IM).
