Opposing party has filed in Harris County pro se. A lot of verbal, financial, and mental abuse over course of the marriage. Opposing party would not let her get a driver's license or a job. Separated in February of 2023. She hasn't had possession of children since then. Visits are on his terms. Is looking for SPO and make-up time. Client has been given forms to file pro-se and a letter certifying her eligibility for services. 

The mom's husband filed for divorce in San Jacinto County in May 2023. In August, She filed a report with CPS against her husband after her son told her about some behavior he witnessed involving his dad and possibly the sister.  The children's ages are 6, 4, and 3. Client has already attempted to hire an attorney in August, but that attorney has not completed any work on the case and refuses to refund her money. Currently, her husband has the children and refuses to return them until after the new year. She needs a Spanish speaking attorney to assist her.  

I have a victim, who nearly died multiple times during her assaults over the past few months. We have two pending cases in our office, one impeding breath & agg assault with deadly weapon. We were able to get a protective order granted on Monday November 27, 2023 for two years. I can send you a copy of it to you. She will qualify for the 60 days waived wait time for a divorce since she is a victim. And he is still currently in our county jail, so he can be easily served with the papers. She has lost everything because of him, and is rebuilding her life back.

About 2 years ago offender shoved victims daughter to the ground.  Safety Plan put in place a year and half ago when victim decided to leave; victim spoke with our org and was successful in moving out.  Already filed with OAG for child support (but no custody proceeding has been filed for yet) for the two children.  Financial and Verbal abuse throughout the marriage.  Victim was thrown out of the house during an argument concerning victim working outside of the home.  Alleges abuser has a methamphetamine dependency issue.
